Dr. Mike Motel
Dr. Michael Motel believes that health is our greatest priority. His goal as a chiropractor is to educate and empower people with the knowledge and understanding about how the human body functions so that they can make the best decisions about their health and well-being.
Dr. Mike graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Physiology. He then continued on to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA to receive his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He has had the opportunity to work with several different chiropractors throughout his education and career. Since graduation, he has worked in Boise, Idaho and Albany, Oregon. His education, with the additional knowledge from these different experiences, has shown him the importance of SPECIFIC Chiropractic analysis and adjusting.
Dr. Mike and his wife Alicia (who is also the Practice Manager) own Boot Berry Farms in Kendall with their two dogs, Eggs Benedict and Herman Frosty. They love all things farm related but growing and preserving their own food is their passion. They also love all the outdoor activities that Whatcom County and the surrounding areas provide; especially skiing, rock climbing, hiking, and camping in their Kimbo. You can find them working out at Vital Climbing Gym and Terrain Gym!
Kayla Romey - Office Manager
As the office manager at Ascend Chiropractic, I love keeping things running smoothly and making sure every patient feels welcome and supported. I’ve always been passionate about holistic health and believe that food is medicine—so you’ll often find me trying new recipes and exploring different ways to nourish wellness.
Originally from Los Angeles, I’m all about staying active and spending time outside. Hiking, swimming, gardening, yoga—you name it, I’m in. I also love arts and crafts, a good book, and hanging out with my husband, Alex, and our two rescue cats, Lina and Duchess. Being part of a team that helps people feel their best every day is something I’m really grateful for, and I can’t wait to welcome you to our office!
Lindsay Nims - Patient Care Coordinator
Lindsay believes strongly in the value of bodily health and wellness. Her goal is to welcome patients into the practice in a manner that gets them ready and excited for their care.
Lindsay graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor's degree in History/Social Studies. Her education showed her the importance of individual health and wellness as a part of social welfare, which she hopes to advance as a part of her time at Ascend. In her off time she spends time with friends playing tabletop RPG's, athletic fencing, and volunteering at the Museum of Northwest Art.
